The women took on responsibilities during the war as either teachers, office workers, salesclerks, government workers, nurses, factory workers, or managed farms. In the war, the women performed many jobs. Some of them were, rolling bandages, weaving blankets, making ammunition, collecting food, clothing, and medicine, raising money for supplies, or some were spies.
Because the men were busy participating in the war, the women had to find a way to help. They either would help outside the war with every day businesses.
