What is one of the Bill of Rights? (The 10 Amendments)  

First amendment- Freedom of Speech, Religion, Press, Assembly, and Petition 

Second Amendment- Freedom to bear arms (own weapons) 

Third Amendment- Protects private homeowners from the military taking over their home

Fourth Amendment- Protects citizens from unwarranted search and seizer from the government  

Fifth Amendment- Citizens are given a fair trial if charged with a crime 

Sixth Amendment- Provides a number of rights people have when they've been accused by a crime

7th Amendment- civil cases, or lawsuits based on disagreements between people or businesses, have a right to be decided by a jury in federal court 

8th Amendment- Protects criminals from excessive punishments 

9th Amendment- People have other rights not listed in the Constitution

10th Amendment-  any power not specifically given to the federal government by the Constitution belongs to the States and the people
