Where is our free printing located AND what are the guidelines for it?
It is at the workstation between the Math & Stats Lab and the Writing Center. The limit is 25 pages and no color printing. The student must sign into the attached computer to print.
You are trying to find a Student ID # but all you have is their email. What Banner screen do you use to find the ID?

No. Even if the student is under the age of 18, they still must fill out a FERPA release for us to talk to their loved one.

We got an email from a student in response to an email they got stating that they did not attend their appointment. They tell us that they did attend this appointment. Where do you go to fix the status of this appointment?

A degree-seeking student with 70 credits comes in during Express Advising time and says that they know what classes they want to take and just need an advisor to approve them. Should you send them to one of our advisors to get registered?
No. Because they are past their first-year and not NODS, they are not (generally) advised by Nanook Advising and they should meet with their major advisor. Additionally, Express Advising time is not for registration as the student will likely need a longer appointment.

A student says they need their instructors contact information and they only know the course number. How can you help them?
You can find the course details in Schedule Planner and it will list the instructor. Then you can find the instructors email using the UA Directory. If they do not come up, Google search the name with "UAF". If it still does not come up, transfer the student to the department the course is in.
A parent comes in and says that their child will not tell them what their class schedule is and they need to know it. They do have a FERPA release on file. Are you required to tell the parent the student's course schedule?
No. A FERPA does not mean that the loved one automatically has the right to the student's information. It is up to your discretion whether or not you withhold information.
