Why would someone want to forgive someone especially if he or she didn't say sorry?
It's good for you to let it go.
You tripped and knocked over the girl next to you and hit her project and it falls.
-say sorry
-help her pick up the project
You go to a friend's house after school and forget to call your mom and tell her. When you call her on the phone later, she is upset.
Why would she be upset? How can you apologize?
She's upset because she was worried something bad could have happened to you.
What does it look like to apologize to someone?
Look at the person, say sorry and WHY. Try your best not to make the same mistake or do what you did to hurt that person.
Think about your tone of voice--do you sound genuine? Or Frustrated?
Why/When would you apologize to someone?
After you made a mistake or hurt someone's feelings.
You yell at a teammate during baseball because he didn't catch the ball and you lose the game.
-apologize. State why you are sorry.
i.e I'm sorry for yelling at you during the game. I was just really wanted to win the game. You did great out there today though.
Why can apologizing be difficult?
It's hard to admit to you're wrong. It can be embarrassing. You might still be upset about what happened.
What do you do if your friend is the one who made the mistake?
Accept the apology, listen to why they are sorry, state how you felt in the situation, or let it go if it's not a big deal. Don't hold a grudge!
You left dishes all over the living room and your mom had to clean them up.
i.e. hey mom sorry for leaving a mess in the kitchen. I'll make sure to clean it up next time. Thanks for cleaning it up for me though.
What does it mean to forgive someone
To tell them you forgive them is to accept his or her apology.
Letting it go and not hold a grudge.
You invited kids from your class to your party, but forgot to invite the new kid and he asked how your party was.
It was good. Sorry for not inviting you, but you'll definitely have to come to the next one and hang out with us.
Can you forgive someone if they don't say sorry?
Yes! It just mean your letting it go and not staying mad.
You got into an argument with your bestfriend about the new Avengers movie and stormed off.
Apologize for storming off and let it go/move on.
