Builds strong literacy skills.  Inferencing, a skill we consistently need to strengthen, is reinforced through thoughtful questioning.  Kindergarteners learn how to compare and contrast so that by the time they reach fourth grade, a compare and contrast essay should be second hat.  Students also reinforce main idea (what do you see) and supporting details (what do you see that makes you say that).
