Bottoms.
Teachers should not be standing around with their arms crossed, hovering over children, or sitting on furniture. SIT & PLAY and engage with the children. Be in the moment and enjoy their company!
This should not be done standing up and should be done every two hours.
Diaper Changes
Unless a child is potty training, diaper changes should be happening while laying down on the changing table not on the changing table steps.
Diaper changes should be happening every two hours -sometimes early but not later than 2 hours. Initials should be on every change.
Using the restroom, grabbing supplies, chit chatting with co-workers, grabbing snacks, etc. (when it is not nap time or when someone has stepped in for you)are all examples of what?
Leaving your classroom Out of Ratio
Teachers should not be leaving classrooms out of ratio for any reason. Just because your class is sitting at the table is not a reason to leave your assistant/co teacher alone.
Pay extra close attention to this high touch area in your classroom. What is the high touch area that should be deep cleaned during nap time?
Bathrooms. Classroom bathrooms should be wiped down and bleach sprayed during nap time.
If you are using the hallway bathroom... before going to your class please make sure supplies are organized. Paper Towels and Toilet paper are picked up off the floor and toilet is flushed. It does not hurt to do a quick wipe down with lysol wipes/bleach spray before going back to your classroom after your last group.

TV should be used for books that you are using with your lesson, virtual field trips, gross motor (Yoga, Just Dance). No more than 15 minutes for gross motor and as long they are engaged and not just sitting staring at the TV.

Temperature
Please make sure you are checking your temperature when entering the building and monitoring it through out the day when you check the children's temps.
Coat Closet
The coat closet should have name tags nicely displayed. If they are loose or smeared please re tape or rewrite. Children's personal items should be in their backpacks on the appropriate hook. Each child should have a name tag.
This is not a storage area in your room or a place where misfit toys go. This is for children's personal belongings only.

Notes & Pick Up Time
Children should be ready 5 minutes before their scheduled time. After 4:45 is the earliest that children should have their gear on or in the hallway waiting for pick up. Please bring books to read to the children when waiting.
Please respond to notes from parents in a timely fashion.
