How does a Nuclear Power Plant generate power?

Through the nuclear fission process. Atoms of radioactive elements (such as Uranium or Plutonium) are split into smaller atoms when hit by neutrons releasing massive amounts of energy. This energy is used to heat water turning it to steam. The steam then spins a turbine generating electricity!
