When X doubles Y quadruples. What pattern is this?

Quadratic pattern

100

Name one of the labs/challenges we did during the Texting & Driving unit

Distraction time, reaction time, Ball on a Ramp lab, system analysis, coding an app, etc.

100

Name 3 types of energy

Elastic, gravitational potential, kinetic, chemical, nuclear, thermal, solar, etc.

100

Name the highest part and lowest part of a wave

Crest- highest. Trough- lowest.

What was the Inquiry Cube?

A puzzle we did in STEM A that had names, numbers, and colors!

200

When X doubles, Y stays the same. What pattern is this?

Horizontal line pattern

200

Calculate the velocity of a bug that can fly 21meters in 5 seconds

4.2m/s

200

What is the unit we use to measure amounts of energy?

Joules (J)

200

When frequency of a wave doubles, the wavelength will _______

The wavelength will get cut in half

200

What "language" do computers/electronics use?

Binary code

300

When X doubles, Y gets cut in half. What pattern is this?

Inversely proportional

300

What does constant velocity mean?

To be traveling at the same speed over a period of time. Each second that passes by, you travel the same amount of distance
300

This states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred or transformed

Law of Conservation of Energy

300

What happens to the amplitude of a wave if you increase the frequency

The amplitude will stay the same!

300

List all the planets in our solar system IN ORDER, starting with the closest to the sun

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, *Pluto*

400

On Desmos, how do you find your C-value?

Use the slider to make the line of best fit go through all your data points

400

Calculate the distance a car goes if it travels at 30m/s for 25 seconds

750 meters

400

If an object has a mass of 6kg and is 14m off the ground, how much GPE does it have?

823.2 Joules

400

How are energy and waves connected?

Energy moves in waves

400
How does echolocation work?

Bats emit high frequency pulses. The sound waves bounce off objects and reflect back to the bats. Then the bats can make a mental map of their surroundings and locate prey.

500

Can your group list all 4 experiments from STEM A that we did to demonstrate our 4 main patterns?

Pendulum Lab, Ball on Floor Lab, Pennies in a Circle, Paragraph Experiment

500

How is constant velocity different than constant acceleration?

Constant velocity is where an object travels the same distance each second. Constant acceleration is where an object increases its velocity at the same rate per second.

500

If the spring constant is 8 and the distance that a spring stretches is 12cm, calculate the amount of elastic energy

576 Joules
