What is umwelt?
This flying insect has a visual acuity of 1 cycle per degree. Though this means their vision is not strong, they still find flowers to pollinate through other means.
What is a honeybee?
This animal has between 12 and 16 photoreceptor cells in its eye – the most found in any animal.
What is the mantis shrimp?

Introduced at the beginning of the chapter, this animal can withstand the absence of oxygen and excess carbon dioxide. They can also be found at the Lincoln Children's Zoo.
What is the naked mole rat?

What is an orchid?
This is the sense of smell, and its system was first described to us through the nose of a dog.
What is olfaction?
These bivalve animals have anywhere from dozens to hundreds of eyes, and each eye has two retinas, but their spatial vision is more like spatial resolution.
What are scallops?
This type of radiation is found next to visible light on the electromagnetic spectrum. It is beyond what humans can see, but some animals are capable of detecting these light waves.
What are ultraviolet/UV rays?
This is the sensation of detecting harmful stimuli, which is separate from feeling pain.
What is nociception?
They are our five peer mentors (must list all five).
