Daytona History
500

In 1940, this large, brown stray dog wandered into Daytona Beach and quickly became a local favorite. He was known for hanging out with cab drivers, playing with kids in the park, and mingling with shoppers. His popularity led to a fancy dog house, gifts every Christmas, and even his own bank account. His story is now preserved at his grave and memorial at the Riverfront Esplanade.
