What is ascending to Lichdom?
A magical gun that measures the spin of quantum particles is hooked up to a machine that activates a rune of evocation magic to fire arcane energy. If the particle is measured as spinning clockwise, the gun will fire; if it's spinning counter-clockwise, it won't. There are two people whose fates are unchangingly tied to each other (if one dies, the other will as well instantly), but they do not know that.
