Homicide
Ill will, deliberate intent to harm someone.
Malice
A killing that would seem like a murder but that occurs after the victim has done something to the killer that would cause a reasonable person to lose self control or act rashly.
Voluntary manslaughter
The act of killing that is premeditated
First Degree murder
deliberate, or having thought about something before actually doing it.
Premeditated
A killing in which there is no intent to kill at all. It is unintentionally killing resulting from conduct so reckless that it causes extreme danger of death or bodily injury.
involuntary manslaughter
The killing of someone during the commission of certain felonies, regardless of intent to kill. Malice is presumed because of the felony taking place.
Felony murder
A failure to exercise a reasonable or ordinary amount of care in a situation, thereby causing harm to someone.
negligence
Causing death through criminal negligence
Negligent homicide
Does not require malice or premeditation but is the result of a desire to inflict bodily harm.
