Food is only allowed in the cafeteria during lunch.

Slippers or house shoes.

Cell phones must be turned off or in silent mode and placed in backpacks.
What must be completed before a student can try out or practice for a sport?
All forms in Registermyathlete.com must be electronically signed.
What must a parent do if a student is absent?
Call the school on or before the day of the absence.
Are students allowed to bring energy drinks to school?
No, energy drinks are prohibited at WJHS.
Are students allowed to wear hats or sunglasses indoors?
No, hats and sunglasses may not be worn in the building.
What happens on a student's first offense of using their phone without permission?
The device will be confiscated and the student will receive 1 day after school detention.
What is the consequence of not returning uniforms or equipment?
Fees will be imposed on all items not returned.
How many days does a student have to change an unexcused absence to an excused one?
10 school days.
What is the policy on gum?
Chewing gum is not allowed on campus. You end up on the gum list.
What is the rule regarding clothing that shows excessive flesh?
Tops that show excessive flesh or undergarments are prohibited.
Can students use their phones during lunch?
No, students are not allowed to use their cell phones on campus, including during lunch.
What GPA must students maintain to be eligible for games?
A "C" or higher in all courses
What is the consequence for 10 consecutive absences?
The student will be withdrawn from school.
Can students drink anything other than water?
No food or drink of any kind is allowed in classrooms unless specified by a teacher.
What is the maximum length for dresses, skirts, or shorts?
Fingertip length, determined by the student standing with arms at their sides.
What is the penalty for using a phone inappropriately, such as in locker rooms?
Penalties will be doubled for violations involving use in inappropriate settings.
What is WJHS's policy on hazing?
There is a "ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY" towards hazing, and incidents will be dealt with severely.
What can happen if attendance issues persist?
A home visit by administration may take place or truancy filed with Winslow Police.
What must students do with refillable water bottles?
They must only contain water and be used appropriately.
What types of drawings or symbols are not allowed on clothing?
Obscene language, drug references, gang affiliation, etc. are prohibited.
Are there any exceptions to the phone policy?
Yes, students with documented medical conditions may use their phones during the day.
