Tough Luck Chuck! You have to stay in your wet/muddy pants/shoes. Play at your own risk! We aren't Walmart or Forever 21. We don't have an abundance of clothes to provide you with.
If you move homes during the school year, do you have to let the school secretaries know your new address?

YES! If we do not have your current address we will not know where to send the bus to pick you up or where to send the money if you win $100,000!
What will happen if you are caught with your phone because you did not turn it in?
1st offense- student will turn it into the office and call home, they may get it at the end of the day.
2nd offense- student will turn it into the office and a parent or guardian will have to pick up the phone from the office.
3rd offense- student will turn their phone into the office EVERY DAY for the remainder of the year.
Are you allowed to wear your coat in class if it is cold?
NO. You cannot wear a coat, you can however wear a sweater, fleece or sweatshirt. If you do not have one, please go on the Virtual Calming Room and let Ms. Emma F or Ms. Livie know.

Backpacks stay in your locker! NOT in your classroom.
Why? Because clutter is stressful and our classrooms are small enough with all our bodies, we don't need backpacks in it too!
It's hot out and you stink. You have deodorant and spray in your locker. What do you do?
Ask for a bathroom pass and put it on in the bathroom. We cannot spray in the halls because some people are sensitive to smells.
If your class is going on a field trip, what is the first thing you need to do in order to go with them?
Get your parent permission slip SIGNED and RETURNED to your teacher!
What exceptions would allow a student to keep their phones on or near them during the day?
If there is a medical reason with a doctors noting stating so.
Why are pajama pants not allowed at school?

We are here to look presentable and learn. Just like going to work and teaching students is your teachers' job, coming to school and learning is yours. You cannot wear pajamas to a job, they're for SLEEPING IN SILLY!
What do you do in the winter when you wear your winter boots to school?
Bring an extra pair of dry shoes to wear throughout the day. NO ONE wants wet slippery boots on all day.

A pass or band! You are NOT allowed to be in the halls without some kind of pass.
Monroe Public Schools can see/access anything you write or view on your MPS devices (chromebooks, ipads, etc.) even if you delete it.

Can you wear a shirt that shows your stomach only when you put your hands up?
No, you have to be able to put your hands up and still have your shirt covering your stomach in order to wear it to school.
Why can't you wear slippers or heelies to school?
1. It is dangerous, if there is an emergency and we need to move quickly, you need to have durable shoes that stay on your feet.
2. We just got our floors redone so we cannot be scuffing them up with wheels!
You trip and fall at recess. You have blood dripping down your knee. The recess aide tells you to go in to the nurse for a bandaid. They do NOT give you a red bracelet. What do you do?
Recess aides do not have red bracelets. Instead, they will radio Ms. Tonya to let her know you're coming and you are allowed to go to the nurse's office without one.
No one from the school is allowed to go through my locker.

Your locker is Monroe Public Schools property, therefore if there is a need STAFF ONLY are allowed to look through a student's locker. No other students are allowed in other lockers than their own.
If you absolutely need to contact your parent or gaurdian, what can you do?
You can ask your teacher to call them when they have time, or you can ask to go to the main office to call home on a school phone.
You can wear a shirt that is sheer or mesh/see through as long as you have something underneath.

You are getting picked up early today for a doctor's appointment. Your parent told you they will text you when they are at school to get you. So you decide you won't give your phone to your teacher today because you need it.
What happens?
Your parent MUST contact the office when they are here to pick you up anyways to sign you out. You DO NOT need your phone even if you're leaving early. That is a violation and your phone will get turned in to the office. When your parent picks you up for your doctor appointment, you can get it back then.
