What is note taking?

Study in a quiet room. Don't talk on the phone. Turn the T.V. off. Turn off the computer (unless you are using it to study). Clear the space around you.
What is avoiding distractions?

Fill in your assignment due dates as soon as you hear about them. Fill in re-occuring assignments/events.
What is your planner?

Words written in bold. Things your teacher writes on the board. A piece of information that your teacher keeps repeating.

Using a dashes, bullet points, & indentation to outline your notes. Most general information goes on the left and specific info/facts are indented with spaces to the right.

This may include doing homework, but it is also a lot more. This is time that students set aside on their own to go over/memorize what they have learned in order to do well on a test.
