What are the risks of mixing energy drinks and alcohol?

Alcohol is considered a depressant and energy drinks are considered a stimulant. Mixing the two can increase the risk of overdose. When someone mixed energy drinks with alcohol it may make them feel less intoxicated and more alert than they actually are. This can potentially lead to alcohol poisoning.
