However, only the wealthy were educated and knew how to read the Bible. So, artisans told a story of the components of the Bible via stained glass windows. The people who were not educated were now able to "Read the Bible", via the stained glass windows. Hence, the stained glass windows were known as, "The Bible for the Poor".
