What is recycle? What is volunteer?
An attraction, from outside or inside of us, that can lead us to disobey God’s commands.
What is temptation?
An approach to philosophy developed by Rene Descartes. It dominated European thought in the 17th and 18th centuries. The main belief was that human reason is the principle of all knowledge.
What is rationalism?
The Son of God, Jesus, being born as a full human being in order to save us.
What is Incarnation?
the activity of a group of people that includes their music, art, language, and celebrations.
What is culture?
The chapter in the bible that discusses God's creation.
What is Genesis?
The attitude of strength and unity that leads to the sharing of spiritual and material goods.
What is solidarity?
The name of the religion of Jesus and all of the people of Israel after they returned from exile in Babylon and built the second temple
What is Judaism?
A title that means “anointed one.” Means the same thing as “Christ”
What is Messiah?
a prayer of petition in which we pray as Jesus did to the Father on behalf of people.
The worship of God together with others.
What is communal prayer?
The third part of the Holy Trinity.
What is the Holy Spirit?
The third great religion, along with Judaism and Christianity, professing belief in one God.
What is Islam?
The title for Mary proclaimed at the Council of Ephesus in 431.
What is Mother of God?
the confidence that God will always be with us, make us happy now and forever.
What is Hope?
During this time Jewish people were forced to live in Babylon, far from home.
These things remind us of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
What is water, oil, clouds, fire or wind?
The work to build a relationship of openness with the followers of non-Christian religions.
The name used for God to replace the name he revealed to Moses, Yahweh, which was considered to sacred to pronounce.
What is Lord?
the final judgement of all human beings that will occur when Christ returns in glory and all appear in their own bodies before him to give an account of all their deeds in life.
What is the Last Judgement?
The ten rules given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai that sum up God’s law and show us what is required to love God and our neighbor.
What are the Ten Commandments?
A loving honest conversation with God.
A meeting that resulted in a disagreement between Paul and his followers and the Jewish Christian followers of James, the leader of the Jerusalem church.
What is the council of Jerusalem?
a gathering of Catholic bishops from the entire world meeting under the leadership of the Pope or his delegates.
What is the Ecumenical Council?
the declaration by word or example of the good news of salvation we have received in Jesus Christ.
