Why was the Lord displeased with some elders?
Because they “hide the talent… because of the fear of man.”
Who “rides in power upon the face of the waters”?
The destroyer (Satan).
What comes before signs?
Faith
What happens when you bear testimony?
It is recorded in heaven.
What will happen to the Earth at Christ's coming?
The earth will be renewed and receive its glory.
What did the Lord warn would happen if talents weren't used?
Even that talent shall be taken away.
What had the Lord “decreed… many destructions upon”?
All the waters.
Why won't sign seekers find salvation?
Because faith does not come by signs.
How were the elders described in D&C 62:1–2?
Zealous and declaring the word of God without delay.
How must Zion be obtained?
By purchase or by the gesture of their own will and faith.
What instruction did the Lord give about traveling?
“Let there be a craft made or bought…it mattereth not unto me.”
What promise is made to the upright on the waters?
They will be kept in mine arms.
What follows those that believe?
Signs
What did the Lord promise after testifying?
Their sins are forgiven.
Who will inherit Zion?
Those who receive the testimony of Jesus and obey.
What were elders told to do when rejected?
Shake off the dust of their feet as a testimony.
Why do some verses say “no flesh shall be safe upon the waters”?
Because Satan has power over the waters.
Whom is the Lord not pleased with in section 61 verse 12?
Those seeking signs and wonders, not for God’s glory.
What matters not in how the elders travel?
Whether they go in company or by twos—it mattereth not.
What did the Lord say about the mount of transfiguration?
They haven't received the fullness about it.
What quality should accompany preaching?
With loud voices, but without wrath or doubting, and He can make them holy.
Who was reproved for pride and contention in D&C 61?
Those in the company (Joseph, Sidney, others).
What happens to those shown signs in wrath?
They see signs only unto their condemnation.
What power comes from testifying?
Power from on high.
What gift is given “more abundantly”?
Power (the mysteries of the kingdom).
