What was the “Great Apostasy“?
The Preisthood had all together been taken from the Earth. No man was authorized to act in God’s name.
Where did we live before this life?
In the presence of our Heavenly Father, as Spirit Children in the Premortal World.
There are 5 parts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. List them in order.
1. Faith
2. Repentance
3. Baptism
4. Receiving the Holy Ghost
5. Enduring to the End
What is a Covenant?
A covenant is a sacred agreement between God and man. God gives the conditions for the covenant, and we agree to do what He asks us to do; God then promises us certain blessings for our obedience.
When Joseph Smith entered the Sacred Grove he had a question for the Lord. What was it? And how did the Lord respond?
Which church was true, that Joseph might know which to join.
The Lord, calling Joseph by name, explained that he should “…join none of them, for they were all wrong.”
What is “the Fall of Man”?
Because Adam and Eve transgressed God’s command, they were cast out from His presence and became mortal. Adam and Eve’s transgression and the resultant changes they experienced, including spiritual and physical death, are called the Fall.
What is the difference between the “Light of Christ“ and the “Gift of the Holy Ghost”?
Before baptism, a person can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost from time to time and through that influence can receive a testimony of the truth.
After receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, a person has the right to His constant companionship if he or she keeps the commandments.
What is an ordinance?; give an example.
A sacred, formal act that has spiritual meaning, designed by God to teach spiritual truth.
Examples:
Naming a baby, Baptism, Receiving the Holy Ghost, Partaking of the Sacrament, Receiving the Preisthood (For men), Washing & Anointing (Initiatory), Endowment and Sealing.
What was the purpose of Moroni’s visit to Joseph Smith on the evening of September 21, 1823 while praying?
To tell Jospeh about the work the Lord had intended for him to accomplish. Primarily bringing about the Book of Mormon.
What was the purpose of the Lord’s earthly ministry?
To overcome sin and death by suffering the Atonement. By living a perfect life, the Savior was able to take our sins upon himself, suffer for them, die and take his life up again. This frees all men who choose to live his gospel.
Explain how Repentance is an act of faith?
Something like… We trust that the Lord suffered for our sins and we believe he will hear us when we ask for His help in in changing our lives.
Faith requires action, we can take action by trusting that the Lord will still help us even when we have sinned.
What is the purpose of the ordinance of the Sacrament?
For us to RETAIN our covenant made at baptism.
What is the purpose of the Book of Mormon?
“A central purpose of the Book of Mormon is to convince all people that Jesus is the Christ.”
Where will we find ourselves after we die?
When we die our spirits will be separated from our bodies. Our bodies will remain here on Earth while our spirits will enter the Postmortal World. Those who were faithful in this life will enter Spirit Paradise where they will teach the Gospel to those who did not have the chance to learn about it in this life and to those who were unfaithful.
What is the covenant we made at baptism and where can we find it in the scriptures?
We promise the Lord we will take His name upon us, always remember Him and keep His commandments.
He promises us the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.

What do we receive in the washing and anointing or initiatory ordinance in the temple?
“We receive special blessings regarding divine heritage and potential. We also are authorized to wear the sacred temple garment.”
Peter, James and John, three of Christ’s original 12 Apostles appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery on the banks of the Susquehanna river. What was the purpose of their visit?
They restored the Authority of the Melchezidek Preisthood by the laying on of hands, authorizing man to again act in God‘s name.
At what point will we be resurrected?
The next Resurrection will take place at Second Coming of the Lord. Spirit and body will be reunited, never again to be separated.
All will receive the gift of immortality, however not all will inherit Eternal Life. Eternal Life is the type of life Heavenly Father lives and is only for those who repent, accept the Lord’s Atonement and choose to live his Gospel.
What is the difference between the Law of Moses and “The Higher Law“ or the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Fundamentally, nothing is different. Both point us towards the Lord and his Atonement.
Obviously we don’t sacrifice lambs anymore, this is because the Law of Moses was fulfilled in the Great and Last Sacrifice of the Lord during His mortal ministry.
The Law of Moses was black and white.
The Higher Law requires more thought and true decipleship.
Upon receiving the Temple Endowment five Covenants are made with the Lord, what are they?
1. Live the Law of Obedience
2. Obey the Law of Sacrifice
3. Obey the Law of the Gospel
4. Keep the Law of Chastity
5. Keep the Law of Consecration
