What is to-ask follow up questions about the reason for the respite. Make sure they have access to the respite/overnight care provider list. If they get stuck, to call you to problem solve.

What is-See if you can get on Casebook with your computer. If not, make sure case manager communicates to the pertinent parties that Casebook was down and communicate the plan for placement. (i.e. doing all the placement forms the next day)

What is-Ask follow up questions about why the investigator is there. Make sure the case manager tells the foster parent not to sign the AP form and to keep answers fact based. Make sure the foster parent sends you the contact information of the investigator. Communicate to all pertinent parties.

The Placement Coordinator calls and can not get a hold of the on call case manager. What do you do? 
What is- Call the on-call phone myself, if that does not work, call the personal cell of the case manager, if that does not work, call their emergency contact to make sure everything is ok. If things are not ok, see if another case manager is available to do placement or if possible do placement yourself.

What is- Make sure Clinicial has been called and dispatched to the home. Look in Minimum Standard to confirm the time line for when we need to report a runaway.

What is- ask follow questions about why they are here and not sleeping. If it is paperwork related, it can be delegated within the team or wait until they get rest; then send them home to get rest.

What is- Immediately to Law Enforcement upon determining the child is not on the premises. To State Licensing within 2 hours of notifying law enforcement.

There is a large sibling group being placed in multiple homes, and the placements are occurring at the same time. What do you do? 

What is- call other team leads/case managers to see if there is someone that can help step in. Depending on the situation and how big the sibling group is, as the supervisor, you may need to help.

What is- Make sure the children in the home have appropriate supervision, dispatch clinicial to the home. Notify the hotline of the arrest, notify State Licensing and CPS. Make sure the serious incident report is completed within a timely manner.

The child that is being placed in the home is a different gender than what the home accepted placement on, What do you do?

What is- Ask case manager to stop placement paperwork and talk to the foster parent about whether or not that they want to continue placement. If they want to continue, have the foster parent email the case manager and you as the supervisor to confirm their acceptance. If not, we will need to inform CPS that CPU sent out the wrong information and we cannot move forward with placement. Make sure to inform the Placement Coordinator ASAP so that we can locate another home.
