Arabic to English - Alaq
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ
Read in the name of your Rabb Who created
A servant when he preforms salat?
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ
By the fig, and the olive tree
By the fig and the olive tree
وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
Who has taught by the pen
No, do not obey him, and perform Sajdah, and draw near
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب
وَهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ
and this Secure City!
And by Mount Sinai,
وَطُورِ سِينِينَ
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ
No, surely man does transgress,
He created man from a clot.
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۢ
except those who believe and do good; for them is then a reward without interruption
and this Secure city!
وَهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ
نَاصِيَةٍۢ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍۢ
a forelock - lying, sinful!
Do you see if he is upon the guidance?
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَـٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَـٰفِلِينَ
Then We revert him to the lowest of the low,
Certainly We have created Man in the finest form.
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍۢ
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
No, if he does not desist, We shall surely drag him by the forelock,
Does he not know that Allah surely sees?
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
Is not Allah the Wisest of the judges?
What then causes you to deny the judgment?
فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ
