You all have been in Upshot for more than a year now and you're doing an AMAZING job monitoring!!!
Will there be any changes to TEAM survey content?
NO!
We experienced MAJOR change in TEAM survey content last year when we stopped using the Up2Us survey and started using our own survey.
Are there changes to registrations?
NO!
New participants fill out the full registration (online or on paper), and returners fill out the annual consent form (on paper, and a staff member uses that to make updates in Upshot manually).
Are there changes to FAMILY Foundations?
YES!
For coaches in their first year of coaching at SWB, now there are 2 versions. The 1st version names 3 targets with the beginning skill for that target, and the 2nd version names all 6 targets with the beginning skills.
The first version is for the first 6 months, and the second version is for the second 6 months.
Once someone is in Upshot, do we ever need to add them again?
NO!
Once someone is in Upshot, they don't need to be added again.
In fact, if they are added again, that means that their journey could be split up and we don't get the full picture for that person!
Will there be any changes to how we implement TEAM surveys?
YES!
We're no longer doing the baseline survey with ALL participants every year. We'll do the baseline with NEW participants in the first month of their time at SWB and then administer the endline with everyone!
Are there changes to Site Rubrics?
YES!
Site rubrics no longer exist. Instead we will be using to Coach Dash & Supervisory Meetings. You might see parts of the site rubric show up in those spaces.
Are there changes to the FULL family framework?
YES!
For coaches in their 2nd year of coaching at SWB, you'll see that the self-assessment changed from naming 1 skill level, to naming 3 skill levels.
What are those colored bars that are new on the Upshot Dashboard?
GOALS!
These are numbers that your hub leadership set during the budget season in May/June 2025 for this coming year. For example, how many participants you hope to reach & how many sessions you hope to run. Your MEL captains will use these bars MOST to provide YOU data about your team or site in the Coach Dash.

Are there changes to FAMILY Game Days?
YES!
There are less overall targets, AND a new SWB-run GAME DAY for league, tournament, and friendly games that are designed and hosted by SWB
Are there changes to the Attendee Types you capture in registers (rosters)?
NO!
We will continue to add participants, session leaders (coaches), volunteers (adults and youth leaders who are not paid), and youth workers (paid youth leaders)
Are there any changes to Youth Leader Surveys?
NO!
We began giving the SWB youth leader survey to all youth leaders at ALL hubs last year for the first time and may make adjustments to the content in the future, but will keep it as is right now.
We'll do this at the end of the school year or fiscal year, depending on the leadership cycle at your hub.
FOR MEL CAPTAINS - Are there changes to monthly reports?
YES!
MEL captains will no longer fill out a monthly report. They will fill out the Coach Dash twice a year to help coaches learn from live data during their supervisory meetings. They will also work on creating space for FAMILY learning and timeline event input!
Will there be any changes to how we use timeline events in Upshot?
YES!
Last year we used timeline events during the end of year MEL Cup. This year you will enter in timeline events at least 3-4x a year during a hub work session with attention to youth leader actions, referrals or wraparound services, 1:1 meetings, and community contribution through the year. Your hub might also record grades at each quarter. At the end of the year you'll focus on graduation, promotion, and enrolls in Alternative High School Education or Postsecondary Opportunity (like job training or college).
