A grammatical unit that contains both a subject and a verb
What is a clause?
a sentence that announces the paragraphs idea and often unites it with the works thesis
What is a topic sentence?
a sentence with a basic statement and a string of details are then added to it
What is a cumulative sentence
a noun, group of nouns, or noun clause that renames the subject
What is the predicate nominative
a sentence that expresses a straightforward idea or action and is usually very short

the word or clause that follows a linking verb and compliments the subject of the sentence by either renaming it or describing it
