A very important role, due to agriculture, Pompeii was able to provide items such as fish, grapes, olive oil, wine, etc.

Trade- Imports/Exports, Pompeii was a trading centre mostly for agricultural produce. Eg- Tableware from northern Italy, exports such as wine and garum, Mensa ponderaria. 

Commerce- Macellum and the forum played an important role in commerce. Evidence of Julia Felix's estate shows clear evidence of temporary stalls.

This is a very common household shrine (lararium). Two lares (guardians of the family, who protect the household from external threats) are positioned on either side of the man (who represents the spirit of the male head of the household), who is dressed in a toga and making a sacrifice.
