IMPORTANT CONCEPTS
These powerful people falsely believed that the races were not equal and used this idea as a reason to treat Black, Asian, and Indigenous people in unfair and cruel ways. These narrow-minded people thought that their race was superior.
Who are the rich White Europeans?
Although we now have different races around the world that were originally created by weathly white Europeans - we all understand that all humans belong to this one race.

We participated in this activity when we created anti-racism posters and placed them in our school to spread awareness about the injustices of racism.

When people come together to show that they oppose or are against certain actions or behaviour that they see occurring in their community and to demand change.

A friend who's willing to stand up for what is right and has your back if you're being treated unfairly because you’re different.

This area, or continent, of the world has over 40 countries.
What is Asia?
A look, a comment, a question, a thought, a joke, a word, or a belief. Name calling, excluding/ostracizing, threatening, violence, put downs, harassment based on one's physical characteristics are all examples of this.
What is racism?
This is the name of the character in the first video we watched together. This young Black boy experienced racism by some other children while playing basketball.
Who is Frankie?
People were protesting the unfair treatment of one racial group by the police. This group is shining a light on this issue to ensure the world knows they matter.
What is Black Lives Matter?
Making a petition, writing a poem or song, letter writing campaigns, social media posts that help others learn about something important. What are these examples of?

This word describes what country you come from; not your race or physical appearance.

This term is used to describe the unfair advantage that white people have over people who identify as races other than white.

This person, in the first video we watched together, reminded us not to fight hate with hate.

Stand up to them and tell them to stop. Encourage the person to use their voice to say it is wrong. Go and get help from an adult or share this information with an adult.

Some examples of this are: We will try to get to know people who are different from us! We will include everyone in our play! We will try to make friends with people who look different from us!
