A new co-worker is struggling to ring up customers at McDonalds. They always get yelled at by customers. You don't want to look bad so you always pretend to be doing something whenever this happens. You try to give advice when they ask, but you don't defend your co-worker or explain their side when your manager yells at them. Is this an example of good or bad interpersonal skills?
This could potentially go either way, but you should probably attempt to help your co-worker (though you could make a case for both sides). It's good that you attempt to give advice and do not become overly involved. However, as a veteran co-worker you should probably help your co-worker out an at least explain to your co-worker what's going on.

You're a park ranger at a state park. A man is fishing in a restricted area. He says he did not know, although there are some signs in area and he has an expired fishing license. What do you do?
Since he said he did not know, you would probably let him off with the warning. Same for fishing license, so you could write him up since he had two violations but you could also give him a warning. You could also even direct him to an area where he can renew his license and another area in the park where he could go to fish.
