What is the Producer?
The place where the audience sits during a play.
This person oversees all the technical crews during the preparation period. They are responsible for getting everything finished on time, and within the budget given.
What is the Technical Director?
This person is with the show from the time it is cast, to the final performance. They sit in on rehearsals to get to know all aspects of the show. Once technical rehearsals start, they take over the run of the show.
What is the Stage Manager?
The color that a cyc normally so it can turn different colors just by shining different colored lights on it.
What is White?
This person is usually hired by the producer, help hire the design team, and is in charge of coming up with the creative concept.
What is the Director?
This is the place where the musicians sit during a musical so they cannot be seen by the audience.
What is the Orchestra Pit?
Led by the Master Carpenter, they are responsible for anything that looks permanent to the audience. They follow the plans of the set designer.

What are Set Props and Hand Props?
The two types of technical rehearsals. One is with the actors and one is without the actors so the tech crews can rehearse their jobs.
What is Wet Tech and Dry Tech?
This is the place where the actors hang out when they are not on-stage for an extended period of time.
What is the Green Room?
These people collaborate with the director to get the physical environment on-stage to work with the creative concept of the play.
What are the Designers?
This is the place in the fly space where lights are hung and plugged in.
What is the Electrics?
The lighting crew is led by this person and is responsible for anything to do with light on stage.
What is the Master Electrician?
The person who runs the light board during a show is called this.
What is the Light Operator?
A specialty curtain that is made of see-through material that looks solid when lit from the front and transparent when lit from the rear.
What is the Scrim?
This person is responsible for keeping the production within budget, spending money and bringing money in through ticket sales and advertisement.
What is the Business Manager?
This is a series of weights, pipes and ropes used to hang, counter-balance, and fly scenery, curtains and electrics in and out of sight of the audience.
What is the Counterweight System?
The sound crew is responsible for these two things. One is a term for when sounds that happen on stage and the other is a term when actors need to be miked for the audience to hear them.
What are Sound Effects and Sound Reinforcement?
These people are responsible for whenever scenery moves on or off stage horizontally from the wings, or offstage areas.
