What is Digital Media?
Information about you that can be used to identify you because it is unique to you (e.g. your full name or your address)
What is private information?
Without a name or other information that identifies who you are.

Not acceptable in the situation; not okay.
What is inappropriate?
Showing a strong opinion or preference for or against something or someone.
What is Bias?
Using media in a way that feels healthy and in balance with other life activities (family, friends, school, hobbies, etc.)
What is media balance?
A type of crime in which your private information is stolen and used for criminal activity.
What is identity theft?
A group of people linked by a common interest or purpose.
What is affinity group?
To lessen the intensity or anger in a conflict.
What is de-escalate?
To carefully examine something to figure out its value.
What is evaluate?
When something happens on digital media that makes you feel uncomfortable, worried, sad, or anxious.
What is red flag feeling?
When someone poses as an institution, like a bank or school, and sends you a personalized message asking you to provide private information
What is phishing?
To select, organize and look after a collection (e.g. content posted to a social media profile.)
What is Curate?
When people use devices, apps, or websites to start or further a conflict between people.
What is digital drama?
Potential threats to a person's or an organization's digital systems or accounts.
What is cybersecurity risks?
To engage in activities that don't involve devices, apps, or the internet.
What is unplug?
An attempt to trick someone, usually with the intention of stealing money or private information.
What is internet scam?
A fake Instagram account used for posting to a specific group of people or to post anonymously.

An additional source that confirms or supports a news story, article or piece of information.

Behaviors we do often or regularly with digital media and devices.
What is digital habits?
A web address that has been condensed and which could mislead a user into going into a risky website.
What is a shortened URL?
Potentially harmful to one’s well-being.
What is risky/dangerous?
A person who is pretending to be someone they are not.
What is impersonation?
Artificially generated video of a person in a situation or a context that was never there.
