Set
It is the process of designing and using lighting equipment to enhance a theatrical performance.
Lighting
They are outfits, including accessories and garments, worn by an actor in a production to help actors become their character.
Costumes
The behind the scene work that creates the world of a theatrical production. This work is done “backstage”, meaning those involved are not on stage during the performance.
Technical Theatre
This person is responsible for communication across all acting and technical departments. They work closely with the directors and technical crews during a show.
Stage Manager
Items used by the actors for stage business and characterization during a performance.
Props
This is the combination of music, sound effects, and other audio elements that are used to create the audience listening experience.
Sound
Responsible for enhancing or altering an actor’s appearance with cosmetics, wigs, and other materials to make them more visible to the audience.

Board Operators
The crew that is responsible for promoting a theatre production through social media posts, show posters, show shirts, Play Bills, and other marketing strategies to raise awareness about a show.

The person who manages one of the technical crews during a production and is responsible for making sure the crew is prepared for backstage operations during a show.
Crew Head
The process of removing everything from the theatre space after the show is over.
Striking
It is a network of ropes, pulleys, counterweights, and rigging equipment that is above the stage that allows the stage crew to raise and lower curtains, scenery, and even people.
Fly System
It is a period of practice for actors, directors, and crew members to prepare for a performance. Actors develop their acting skills, and crews work out details about the performance.
