Positive Effect(s) of Terrorism

Because of the attack, government and military strengthened their security around borders, airports, etc. which created a safer environment in their country and around the globe. Also, in a way it brought people together, people grieve and empathise with others, they put aside differences and in a communal and compassionate way brought each other up out of their sadness. Though, of course these minor positive effects do not  out weigh the other horrible affects.

Back in May 2017, over twenty people were killed, thousands injured and affected(some are children) over a bomb that exploded at the end of Ariana Grande’s concert.

It is evident that injuries caused by the bombings have had a severe impact on the lives of a number of people. A terrorist incident will therefore affect the functioning of a hospital for a considerable period after the event.

Explain and recall the video.

The video contained first hand information of the traumatizing experiences of terrorism throughout the decades beginning from 1970s to the recent 2010s. The women in the video explain their hardships and severe life changing impacts of the attacks. They discussed its effects on their mental health, their  physical health,and the lives of people around them. The video gives a good insight to the effects on humanity by giving real life examples of what terrorism is capable of and who it affects. It affects anyone and everyone,anyone who is compassionate can feel the pain of the other and those who fall victim are simply innocent civilians who have no say or involvement in the matter.

Why would someone want to be a terrorist?

  • Having a strong hate toward a political nation or ideology

  • Environment they grew up in were already full of violence, they became normalized to war and death

  • Makes them feel a sense of heroism 

  • Forced/threatened to join   

  • Seeking justice, has a faulty and delusional moral compass.
