Generating ideas with different techniques like listing, mapping, or freewriting.
Metaphor
What is a Literary Device in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable (like a Smilie without like). "She was a ray of sunshine."
Theme
Big Ideas! The main message the author is trying to show the reader, as told through literary devices
Resolution
What is a literary element which establishes a new norm. It is often the end of the story and ties up loose ends.
Free Writing
What is a brainstorming technique; writing what comes to mind when thinking about a certain idea or topic. We do this when we journal.
Repetition
What is a literary device in which a word or phrase is used multiple times. Repetition can be found throughout literature. Most commonly, it is found in poetry and speeches to create rhythm or emphasize a word or phrase.

What is the creation or construction of a fictional character, how they act, what they look like and how, or if, they change

What is a literary element that drives plot and provides tension; a struggle or clash between opposing characters, forces, or emotions

What is a literary element; the feeling a reader gets from the story

What is a handwritten or typed document, especially a writer's first version of a book before it is published.
