Coordinating Used to join or link words, phrases, or clauses, each of which has equal weight

Correlative: Pairs, if the 1st word in one of these pairs occurs in a sentence, then the 2nd word in the pair must follow.

Subordinating Used to connect one clause (a main or independent clause – has a subject + predicate) to another clause (a subordinate or dependent clause – has a subject & verb, but does not express a complete thought) that carries less weight and importance.
