The dodo bird used to roam in large flocks across America. Interestingly, the dodo birds aren't startled by gun shots. Because of this, frontiersmen could kill entire flocks in one sitting. Unable to sustain these attacks, the dodo bird was hunted to extinction.

What is an effect?
