Cautiousness of Conscious Conscience
This is who speaks to us through conscience, when it is rightly formed.
God.
Christ came to do this to the Law.
Fulfill, not abolish, the Law.
True freedom is freedom to choose this, not just to do whatever you want.
To choose the good.
Reality dictates this.
Morality.
How do circumstances effect the moral quality of an act?
They can make the act worse or better, but cannot make an evil act good or a good act evil.
We ought to always do this when making a moral decision.
Listen to our conscience.
To fulfill means this.
To bring to completion or even to exceed.
Because man has free will, he is morally _________ for his actions.
Responsible.
Human beings all share this, which is made by God.
Human nature.
Explain how the intention effects the morality of an act.
Good intentions do not justify an evil object of an action.
We have an obligation to always do this throughout our lives, through prayer, using the Scripture, Church teaching, and listening to the advice and wisdom of others whom we can trust.
Form our conscience.
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives the Beatitudes. These fulfill and perfect these other moral rules given by God at another time.
The Ten Commandments.
The moral law and rules of the Church are meant to do this.
Because human beings are made in God's image, they ought to be treated with this.
Respect.
These are the three sources of morality.
Object, Intention, Circumstance.
Your conscience helps you make the right moral choice before you act. It can also do this, after you act.
Help you discern what sins you need to repent of.
What did Jesus say the rich young man still lacked?
To sell all that he had and give to the poor, and follow Jesus.
Without Jesus, we are ____________ to sin.
Enslaved.
Human beings are made for __________ with God.
Relationship
This is the first source of morality, and refers to the act itself being chosen, such as stealing, alms-giving, murder, etc.
The object.
Conscience is this.
A judgment of reason by which we know right from wrong.
The goal of following the law is this, which means happiness, or "blessedness".
Beatitude.
Man has two "powers of the soul". The first is the intellect, and the second is this.
Free will.
Sin is fundamentally an act of this toward God.
Distrust/rejection/pride/fear.
Explain to Mr. Cain an act that has a good object, a good intention, and a bad circumstance that decreases its moral quality.
