They placed the ark on a cart attached to two young cows that had never pulled anything before. They also placed gold gifts in the cart as a guilt offering to the Lord.

How did God’s people misuse the ark?
God’s people treated the ark like a “good-luck charm.” The people were only using God to get what they wanted. The ark did not have any special powers. It was a reminder of God’s presence with His people. God alone had the power to give the Israelites victory.
