what is a peer critique and what is its purpose?
Critique is the act of assessing, thinking, revising, formulating, and changing. When we peer critique we observe a classmates art work and reflect on it. why? It helps us to grow as artists and as people. When we peer critique we observe, draw conclusions, form statements, and provide feedback. we DEEPLY engage our brains in the topic. we have to understand the question, observe an artwork, form a statement with supporting evidence, and synthesize all of that to provide thoughtful feedback.

what is the magic mess?
Miss Violet chooses something that is out of place in the art room and needs to be put away . The clean up chime is rung and Students look around the art room and put away all the things that are out of place. If someone puts away the chosen item properly they are the magic mess finder and they recieve a free dress day.
How are art projects graded?
With a rubric one point for meeting each expectation. Just participating gives you 2 points. Most projects have 5 expectations each worth 2 points for a total of 10 points.

How do you go about painting in the art room?
Grab ur chosen paint and a dog dish (one side is water the other a sponge to wipe your paintbrush on) use the water jug at the store to fill one side halfway with water. when you are done put your art on the drying rack, dump your water in the blue trash can under the water jug, wash your brush thoroughly in the sink and return it to the paintbrush holder at the store Toes up! (Bristles up) return your paint to where you found it
how many points is each class day worth and how do i lose points?
10 points. you lose points by being disruptive or disrespectful or not participating.
What is the procedure before entering class?
silently line up in the hallway, backpacks on the wall , and wait to be greeted with "hello my amazing artists" upon which you will reply "hello my amazing art teacher" then she wil;l reply "How are you today? and you will say "ready to create!"

what is the store, do I need to ask to use the items at the store and where is it located?
The store is the 3 bookshelves arranged in a triangle in the middle of the room. It has all the supplies you need to make art with, You may use anything at the store you don't need to ask, you just need to put everything back where it belongs.
can students use the pillows or sit on the floor
Yes! The quiet corners are there to make you comfortable! you may sit wherever you like so long as you are participating and you are not being disruptive or disrespectful.
what should students do before putting up chairs at the end of the day?

I can go use the sink whenever I want and I have to tell Miss Violet I am going
false . To use the sink you need a paintbrush necklace and you dont need to tell miss violet. Just grab the necklace and use the sink and come back to class right away.
