Sister Carole M. Stephens told a story about her 3 year old granddaughter. Tell the story and why she told it.
Sister Stephens' 3 year old granddaughter kept getting unbuckled and standing up as they were driving to her home. She had to pull over several times and re-buckle her, each time without. Finally, after prayer, she felt prompted to teach the little girl. She taught her that seat belts are there to keep us safe, and she wanted her granddaughter to be safe. When her granddaughter knew that she loved her and wanted her to be safe, she stayed in her carseat. The gospel principle is that seat belts are like commandments. Sometimes we feel like they are restrictive and limit our freedom, but really they are there because God loves us enough to protect us. When we obey the commandments, we are showing God that we love him in return.

Elder Von G. Keetch told a story about a beach in Australia that had some barriers. Tell us the story and what we can learn from it.
Elder Keetch was on the beach of Australia and came across some very upset surfers. After questioning why they were upset, they pointed out a large barrier out by where all the big fun waves were. They wanted to surf out there, but could not, and didn't understand why. A man came over and had them look through binoculars. They then saw sharks feeding right on the other side of the barrier. "Don't be critical of the barrier. It's the only thing keeping you from being devoured." Principle: Our standards may seem like restrictive barriers, but they are really protecting us from being devoured by Satan's influences.

Elder Allen D. Haynie told a story about a hole he dug when he was young. Tell the story and what we can learn from it.
When Allen was young he decided to dig a hole in the field across the street. When it got too hard to dig anymore he added water to soften the dirt. When the hole was big enough and filled with water he decided to make a swimming hole out of it. When he was done he was dirty and cold and wanted to go inside the house, but his grandmother stopped him and wouldn't let him inside the house until she had sprayed him down with the hose. Principle: No unclean thing can enter into God's kingdom, but the Savior can make us clean in order to enter the kingdom.

President Monson told a story in which people were worried about the light in the eyes of the members of the church. Tell that story and why they were worried.
When the church built the Jerusalem center they were told to make sure the students who would be attending did not proselyte. After that agreement had been made, one of the Israeli officials, who was well acquainted with the Church and its members, remarked that he knew the Church would honor the no-proselyting agreement. “But,” he said, referring to the students who would attend there, “what are we going to do about the light that is in their eyes?" President Monson told this to illustrate that the light which comes from a pure and loving spirit is recognized by others.

Elder Richard J. Maynes told a story about a potter who made pottery out of clay on a potter's wheel. Tell that story and why it is important.
Elder Aoba was teaching a group of youth and demonstrated how to make several shapes out of clay on his potter's wheel. He then let them try it, and they failed. Clay flew everywhere and they were discouraged. He showed them that the clay has to be exactly centered on the wheel. When they tried again, it was much smoother. Principle:The world in which we live is similar to the potter’s spinning wheel, and the speed of that wheel is increasing. Like the clay on the potter’s wheel, we must be centered as well. Our core, the center of our lives, must be Jesus Christ and His gospel.
