Why was the polis the geopgraphical and political center of Greek life?
The inner part of the polis had become a city-with teh villages and farmland around it, it formed a city-state Each city-state had its own government and laws. At the ceter of each polis stood a templ fo the local god. The polis gave people as ense of belonging. Greek citizens put the good of the polis above everything else.
