The failure of the central government to collect tax, raise an army, regulate interstate commerce, etc.
Weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation
This means the government is controlled by the people, power of the people.
Popular sovereignty
This protects against unfair Bail and “Cruel and Unusual Punishment”.
8th Amendment
This set up that a President can only be elected twice or a total of 10 years.
22nd Amendment
Power to appoint government officials.
Article II
1.Who is expected to obey the laws of each state and the nation; Pay taxes to fund the gov’t(s) that protect you and your rights; Defend the nation; and/or Serve on a jury if requested to do so
Citizen
When the Constitution limits what a branch of government can do.

Any power not given to the National government, and not forbidden to the State government, are automatically given to the states and the people.
10th Amendment
