What time should I be stationed at my night patrol?
9:30, that means you start making your rounds at 9:20.
What is the required ratio for swimmers (without PFDs) to lifeguards?
10 to 1.
Where do we park our vehicles?
Centennial. The first left if you are headed towards the horse barn.
If you need to bring a child to the infirmary but you are the only staff member at the program area what should you do?
99% of the time another staff member is in earshot and can help by taking your class. If no one is around, then bring everyone to the infirmary.
You are dealing with an injury/illness that requires you to leave camp at times not within your day off. How do you handle this?
Talk to Nate, Honor, Millie, Izzy or Nicole EARLY. We can help you with this. Leaving camp abruptly without warning can result in termination of contract.
Can I wander over to other night patrols while on night patrol?
No, unless they need your help. The kids are relying on you to be where you say you will be. Speaking of wandering, you should be roaming quietly around the cabins you are watching every 10 minutes or so. Make sure nothing inappropriate is happening. Other than that, stay at your location.
What should all on-duty Lifeguards be equipped with at all times?
Lifeguarding tube, hip pack (), whistle, and proper swimming attire.
How should I store snacks in my cabin that I have for my co's and I ?
In a bin that latches shut.
How should staff kids be treated?
As campers.
How much time do you have to report a work-related injury in order to receive workman's compensation?
You have to talk to a certain person who works in the office within 24 hours of being hurt.
Am I able to listen to music or a podcast while on night patrol ?
No. If something unsafe happens and you are not doing your job you are susceptible to your contract being terminated.
The ACA and Coniston require at least two trained staff members to be present at ALL times on which aquatics program areas?

Is it appropriate for me to walk around in only a bathing suit during meal times?
No, you work with children. Put clothes on.
Where are the Automated External Defibrillators (AED) located around camp?
1. The external flag facing wall of the Lodge.

Is my work schedule susceptible to being changed if I am hurt?
Yes, your program areas will potentially be changed if the office and/or you feel like you are unable to perform at the specific location.
If it is midnight am I good to leave my night patrol location?
No, not until someone from every cabin that you are covering is back. Reach out to them and tell them to come back, it's unfair to you.
If I have time off, can I swim with my friends without a lifeguard?
NO! Anytime someone is in the water they need a fully trained and equipped lifeguard.
How and when do we get payed?
Staff will receive a paycheck (even if you have direct deposit) every 2 weeks.
A fight happens at your program area leading to an injury. After contacting the office, infirmary, and program are you done?
No, the office will have you fill out an incident report.

No, you may switch w people but doing night patrol is part of everyone's job.
What should be in every lifeguard's hip pack at all times?
Gloves, CPR masks for infant and adult, two-way CPR mask valve attachment and a sanitary wipe for cleaning PPE.
