Used to analyze the information needed to develop the project scope statement
Expert Judgement
Includes activities such as measuring, examining, and verifying to determine whether work and deliverables meet requirements
Inspection
An iterative scheduling technique that uses progressive elaboration to plan the project as it unfolds
Rolling wave planning
technique is used in management and information systems applications for the construction of an approximate probability distribution representing the outcome of future events, based on very limited information.
Three-point estimates
A technique that can help teams better accommodate resource constraints and predict project timelines.
Resource Leveling
Document generated by the Create WBS process that supports the WBS. The WBS Dictionary provides more detailed descriptions of the components in the WBS.
WBS Dictionary
Includes activities such as measuring, examining, and verifying to determine whether work
Inspection
Reusable project outlines that reduce rework and serve as a starting point for new work.
Templates
Software-Used to help plan, organize, and manage resource pools and develop resource elements
Project Management Software
Used to perform Schedule Network Analysis that considers task dependencies, limited resource availability, and buffers
Critical Chain Method
Is the subdivision of project deliverables into small, more manageable components until the work and deliverables are defined to the work package level. The work package level is the lowest level in the WBS, and is the point at which the cost and activity durations for the work can be reliably estimated and managed. The level of detail for work packages will vary with the size and complexity of the project.
Decomposition
Deliverables that meet the acceptance criteria are formally signed off and approved by the customer or sponsor.
Accepted Deliverable
When two or more tasks that are dependent on each other are slowed down by an error along the way.
Project Lag
Estimating technique uses information from similar projects to establish a cost estimate based on the data available.
Analogous Estimating
A graphical tool used for scheduling activities in a project plan.
Precedent Diagram Method
The work to be executed by the project team to accomplish project objectives and create the required deliverables.
WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)
Measurements can include planned vs. actual technical performance or other scope performance measurements. This information is documented and communicated to stakeholders.
Work Performance Measurements
Mark a specific points along a project's timeline.
Project Milestone
See's a statistical relationship between historical data and other variables (e.g., square footage in construction) to calculate an estimate for activity parameters, such as cost, budget, and duration.
Parametric Estimating
A technique where you identify tasks that are necessary for project completion and determine scheduling flexibilities.
Critical Path Method
The approved version of a scope statement, work breakdown structure (WBS), and its associated WBS dictionary, a component of the project management plan. Components of the scope baseline include Project Scope Statement, WBS and WBS Dictionary.
Scope Baseline
Project performance measurements are used to assess the magnitude of variation from the original scope baseline.
Variance Analysis
Project management tool that illustrates work completed over a period of time in relation to the time planned for the work.
Gantt Chart
An analysis of existing resources to provide transparency into campus' reserve balances and allow us to better frame how we can enable their use for investment in our highest priorities.
Reserve Analysis
The strategy consists of visualizing the different project tasks and making connections between them in the project management plan.
