Jonas was given the Receiver of Memory, this is the most honored job in the community. This was unusual because the community only had one Receiver, and he chose his successor. Reciever was the most important job in the community.

Describe the Celebration of Release of Roberto.
It was a wonderful celebration. They told his entire life story before they released him. Everyone toasted and raised their glasses. They cheered and chanted the anthem. Roberto gave a goodbye speech. Roberto bowed and then walked into the door for the releasing room.

The jacket the 4's, 5's, and 6's wore buttoned down the back so the children would have to help each other dress and learn interdependence.

During the naming, the nurturers brought the new children to the stage. They recieved their names and parents.
The eights received new jackets with snaller buttons and pockets. The pockets symbolized maturity and the ability of the wearer to keep track of small possessions.

elevens, females got new undergarments, males got longer trousers with a special pocket for their school calculator.

He transmitted the memories of the whole world of the past. The first memory was snow.
