She was born at one of the darkest points of Mav's life (just after his cousin was killed in a robbery). The name symbolises how Starr was the 'guiding light' in Maverick's life.

He sold drugs for King to pay off his mothers debt. King invited him to join but Khalil refused. Later at Khalil's funeral, King acts like he was a member to save face and hide that Khalil rejected him.
