When I was 15 I wanted nothing more than to be a scientist but my father did not approve because it was difficult for a woman to have a career in a science field.

No, Maurice expected me to be his assistant which was not the case and this caused a lot of tension between the two of us.

I used X-ray diffraction to analyze complex, unorganized matter such as large biological molecules, and not just single crystals.

I was expected to interrupt my work and leave the building for lunch every day. Since Women were not allowed in the College cafeteria.

Yes, I was successful while working with Raymond Gosling. When working with Gosling I was almost able to determine that DNA was a helical structure.

Unfortunately I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at a very young age.
