Edmund decided to lie when Lucy told the others about Narnia. He said that he was just pretending with Lucy and that there was nothing there.
How does Edmund justify going to the Witch’s house?
Edmund justifies his decision to go to the Witch’s house by believing that she wouldn’t really hurt them. He says that all of these people saying nasty things about the Queen are her enemies so half of the things they say are probably not true. He decided that she must be a rightful Queen and certainly wasn’t as bad as Aslan.

Narnia was very cold. It was snowing and mostly woods where Lucy found herself.

The children decided to let Lucy be the leader because she had been to Narnia before and they did not believe her when she told them all about her first visit.
What was Father Christmas like, and how did he affect the children?
Father Christmas was so big, so glad, and so real that they all became still and solemn.
Why did Aslan say that they would have to move their camp?
Aslan said they would have to move because the place where they were would be wanted for another purpose.
What did Aslan do to bring the statues back to life?
Aslan breathed on the statues to bring them back to life.
At the beginning of chapter three, why did the other children believe that Lucy was “batty”?
The other children believed that Lucy was batty because she told them about Narnia, the place she found in the wardrobe. She was convinced she had been gone for hours to this strange place, but had actually only been gone for a short moment.
Why was the beaver glad when he saw that it had begun to snow?
The beaver was glad to see the snow because it meant that they would not have any visitors and it also meant that the snow would cover up their tracks in case someone was trying to follow them.
Why did the witch stop suddenly?
The witch stopped suddenly because she saw a party of animals enjoying a Christmas dinner.
What did the Witch not know?
The Witch did not know that if a willing victim was killed in a traitor’s stead, deeper magic from before the dawn of time would cause death to start working backward.
What did Edmund do to keep the Witch from overpowering Aslan’s forces?
Edmund destroyed the Witch’s wish to keep her from overpowering Aslan’s forces.
What type of information did Edmund share with the Queen?
Edmund gave the Queen all sorts of information. He told her all about his family and how Lucy had already entered Narnia. He told the Queen that Lucy had met a Faun in Narnia.
Why did Mr. Beaver tell the children not to search for Edmund?
Mr. Beaver told the children not to search for Edmund because he already knew where he had gone. He told the children that he knew Edmund had gone to the Witch because he had been here before and joined her side.
What did Aslan show Peter?
Aslan showed Peter the castle at Cair Paravel where he would be the High King.
What did Mr. Tumnus tell Lucy about the giant Rumblebuffin?
Mr. Tumnus told Lucy that he was just like all giants. He was not very clever, but he was from a good family.
How did the children happen to find the lamp post in the wood and why did they not return back at this point?
The children found the lamp post while they were hunting the White Stag. They decided not to return back at that point because they would be ashamed to turn back because of fear.
How did Edmund’s and Lucy’s opinions of the witch differ?
Lucy believed what the Faun had told her. She believed the Queen was a witch and did not deserve to rule over Narnia. Edmund was unsure of the Queen, but he knew he loved the Turkish Delight and he really wanted to have it again.
How does each child react when Aslan is mentioned?
The children each react in a strange way when Aslan is mentioned. Edmund felt a sensation of mysterious horror. Peter felt suddenly brave and adventurous. Susan felt as if a delicious smell or delightful strain of music had passed by her. And Lucy got the feeling you have when you wake up and realize it’s a holiday or the beginning of summer.
Describe what Edmund sees when gets to the Witch’s house.
Edmund saw a sight that nearly made his heart stop beating. He saw a lion in a courtyard crouched as if it was ready to spring. Surrounding the lion were many statues. Once he gets inside he finds himself in a long gloomy hall with many pillars.
As the children grew older, what names were they given?
The children became King Peter the Magnificent, Queen Susan the Gentle, King Edmund the Just, and Queen Lucy the Valiant.
How did the Professor react to their story?
The Professor believed their story. He said they would return to Narnia someday when they least expected it.
