Why did Harriet Beecher Stowe write Uncle Tom's Cabin?
Stowe wanted to show the public how brutal and immoral slavery really was. After the Fugitive Slave Law was passed, she decided that anyone who could make that law clearly didn't understand how horrible slavery was.
