The nerve connected to facial expressions and taste
What is the facial nerve (VII)?
The subdivision that controls voluntary movements
What is the somatic nervous system?
The junction between two neurons where neurotransmitters are released
What is the synapse?
Supportive cells in the CNS & PNS that provide structural support, protection, & nutrition to neurons
What are neuroglia?
The structure that regulates bodily functions & hormone release
What is the hypothalamus?
The nerve connected to hearing and balance
What is the vestibulocochlear nerve (VIII)?
The subdivision that regulates involuntary movement
What is the autonomic nervous system?
The neurotransmitter that regulates mood, appetite, and sleep
What is serotonin?
The supporting structures that form myelin sheaths in the PNS
What are Schwann Cells?
The lobes that process sensory information such as touch, temperature, and pain
What are the parietal lobes?
The nerve connected to eye movements and the lateral rectus muscle

The subdivision that prepares the body for "fight or flight"
