In the warm months, women hung weighted nets in the water at night. In the morning, they collected the fish that were caught. Sometimes they used spears, traps, and hooks. In the winter, the men cut holes in the ice and attracted the fish with decoys. A fisherman would lie on the ice and peer into his hole. When he saw a fish, he speared it.
