CD: Two- Bit is talking to Pony right after they saw Johnny at the hospital and before they meet up with Cherry for the last time. CM: He's acknowledging that Darry is too smart and capable to be a Greaser. They are holding him back in life.

These are Johnny's dying words to Ponyboy. He's referencing the poem Pony recited to him at the church. He urges Pony to continue being a good person and not to label himself.

CD: Darry is talking directly to Pony after he shows up late at home from falling asleep in the lot with Johnny. CM: Darry is upset but worried he will lose another family member. Although his actions are troublesome, his intentions are to provide Pony love and safety.

Pony says this to Cherry after she declines to visit Johnny in the hospital. This proves he is quick to anger like Darry but handles it very differently. He salvages the scene by mentioning Cherry's sunsets.
